Det har været en stor dansk dag på banerne ved EM i München, Tyskland – idet vi formåede at få hele to doubler med til finalespillet.
Vejen dertil var spændende og det var først i 10’ende rude i squad 3, at Mik Stampe og Carsten W. Hansen var sikre på at kvalificere sig som nr. 4 til finalespillet med en score på 2494, men inden da havde Jesper Agerbo og Thomas Larsen vundet det indledende spil på fornemste vis med en samlet score på 2654.
De to danske hold skulle herefter møde hinanden i semifinalen og her trak Mik Stampe og Carsten W. Hansen det længste strå og vandt kampen med 377-362. Den anden semifinale blev vundet at den finske double Tomas Käyhkö/Niko Oksanen over den franske double Julien Sermand/Valentin Saulnier med 409-335.
Finalen mellem Danmark og Finland blev spændende, men heldigvis fik Mik Stampe og Carsten W. Hansen midt i kampen godt styr på nerverne og vandt med 472-418.
Medaljerne i double blev fordelt således:
Guld: Mik Stampe og Carsten W. Hansen (Danmark)
Sølv: Tomas Käyhkö og Niko Oksanen (Finland)
Bronze: Jesper Agerbo/Thomas Larsen (Danmark) og Julien Sermand/Valentin Saulnier (Frankrig)
Der skal lyde et stort TILLYKKE til de to medalje par.
